Little Atascosa Homeschooler Clover Kids 4-H

Talk about good memories. I spent all four years of my highschool, really involved in FFA. I raised rabbits, chickens, turkeys and lambs.Competed in horticulture judging contests and entered a dish garden at show time for each of my highschool years. I completed in showmanship contests, livestock judging, meat judging and tour guiding. I also served in our FFA leadership each year as Student Advisor, Secretary, Vice President and then, my senior year, as Miss FFA. Not only did FFA teach me so much about animals it gave me self confidence, got me interested in volunteering and serving others and encouraged me to do many, many things that I might not have done if not through FFA.

This past year, much to my delight, the kids were able to join a brand new 4-H group in our county especially for homeschoolers. 4-H is really similar to FFA, however, they can get involved much earlier. We had such a great year with lots of fun activities. Here are a few pictures from some of the things they did.

LAHCK club showed up at Morales Feed and Seed to cheer in the Laredo trail riders (and do a bit of fundraising) as they headed towards the San Antonio stock show and rodeo.

We had a booth in the Youth Tent at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo


They also were in a parade at the stock show where our little club did very well!

It was a fantastic first year for our Little Atascosa Homeschoolers Clover Kids! Fun stuff, great memories made and wonderful friendships kindled.
